Exploring Our Emotional Etchings
(8 week, online course)
We are all shaped by lifetime experiences, which sometimes etch lasting impressions into our bodily tissues and unconscious minds. These etchings may shape our behaviors, beliefs, and senses of self. This eight-week, virtual yoga class will use movement, breath, and sound in combination with group and creative processes. As we learn to explore with curiosity and gradually let go of patterns that inhibit self care and growth, we make space to embrace our present-moment selves and create new possibilities in our ever-evolving lives.

I Welcome You to a Quiet Presence…
In our fast-paced, ever-changing, politically unsettled, climate challenged world, finding moments of stillness might be more essential for our well being than ever before. How many times have I rushed past the present moment without even being aware of what I missed? Rather than reviewing the past or anticipating what might lie ahead, yoga has helped me learn to live now–right here, right now, in this present moment. The longer I practice yoga, the more I recognize it as so much greater than just a form of exercise. For me, yoga has become a way of life, which is informed by the ethics of the Yamas and Niyamas. Principles such as non-violence, truthfulness, contentment, self study, and surrender help me find balance as life swirls around me. Simply bringing awareness to my breath can calm the chatter in my mind and bring me to a place of greater stillness. A focus on gratitude can change the course of my day.
The consistent practice of yoga has become a quiet presence underlying my life. It informs and supports my approach and response to life. Some years ago, a colleague described me as a quiet presence, offering equanimity and balance to others.
Through the practice of yoga, I am honored to share my quiet presence with you.
